for Home isolation patients

  • Cuttack shield app is designed for Covid 19 patient who are under Home Isolation.
  • The patient must have a valid SRF ID and the registered Mobile number provided during Covid 19 testing.
  • After providing valid SRF ID and Mobile number, the patient will receive an OTP.
  • Then the patient will be able to update his own profile.
  • The citizen will also be able to view the updated Health status which is updated by CMC Health Functionaries during Home Isolation period
  • Also the patient can press SOS button during emergency


Introduction

"Cuttack Shield” is an application developed for the patients affected with Covid 19. This application will track Health Status of Patient who is in Home Isolation. This app will also help the Cuttack Municipal Authorities to know the exact status of each Home Isolation Patient affected during Covid 19. This app will provide a clear picture about Covid 19 status of Cuttack City. The Covid 19 affected Home Isolation patient and assigned Health Worker will have a Mobile App to update their daily health status. The Home Isolation Patient will have an option to press a “SOS” Button who seeks immediate attention.

Isolation Criteria

  • Patient must isolate himself from other household members, stay in the identified room and away from other people in home, especially elderlies and those with co-morbid conditions like hypertension,cardiovascular disease, renal disease etc.
  • The patient should be kept in a well-ventilated room with cross ventilation and windows should be kept open to allow fresh air to come in.
  • Patient should at all times use triple layer medical mask. Discard mask after 8 hours of use or earlier if they become wet or visibly soiled. In the event of care giver entering the room, both care giver and patient may consider using N 95 mask.
  • Mask should be discarded only after disinfecting it with 1% Sodium Hypochlorite.
  • Patient must take rest and drink lot of fluids to maintain adequate hydration.
  • Follow respiratory etiquettes at all times.
  • Frequent hand washing with soap and water for at least 40 seconds or clean with alcohol-based sanitizer.
  • Don’t share personal items with other people in the household.
  • Ensure cleaning of surfaces in the room that are touched often (tabletops, doorknobs, handles, etc.) with 1% hypochlorite solution.
  • Self-monitoring of blood oxygen saturation with a pulse oximeter is strongly advised.
  • The patient will self-monitor his/her health with daily temperature monitoring and report promptly, if any deterioration of symptom as given below is noticed.

Home Environment for Patient

If you are caring for someone with COVID-19 at home or in a non-healthcare setting, follow this advice to protect yourself and others. Learn what to do when someone has symptoms of COVID-19 or when someone has been diagnosed with the virus. This information also should be followed when caring for people who have tested positive but are not showing symptoms.

Wash your hand

Avoid direct contact with body fluids of the patient, particularly oral or respiratory secretions. Avoid sharing cigarettes, Dishes, Drinks, clothes.

Maintain social distancing

Food must be provided to the patient in his roomUse triple layer medical mask and disposable gloves while cleaning or handling surfaces.

Medical Waste Disposal

Effective waste disposal shall be ensured as per CPCB guidelines so as to prevent further spread of infection within household.

Practice Respiratory Hygiene

Follow respiratory etiquette at all time. Dispose tissue immediately after use. Use flexed elbow to sneez than hand.

Guideline for Home Isolation

Patients must be in communication with a treating Physician and Promptly Report in case of any deterioration. Patients may perform warm water gargles or take steam inhalation twice a day. Do not attempt to procure or administer Remdesivir or usage of Oxygen Cylinder at home with out the consent of the physician.

Temperature

Maintain a record of temperature every 4 hourly. In case of High temperature contact doctor immidiately

Pulse

Keep a record of Pulse rate every Four hourly,If Pulse rate goes down to 80 consult your Physician.

SpO2

Every Four Hourly Check the Oxygen level through Oximeter.When it falls bellow 90 contact Doctor.

When to seek Medical Attention

Patient / Care giver will keep monitoring their health. Immediate medical attention must be sought if serious signs or symptoms develop. These could include

    • Difficulty in breathing
    • Dip in oxygen saturation (SpO2 < 94% on room air)
    • Persistent pain/pressure in the chest
    • Mental confusion or inability to arouse

Protect yourself

Protect yourself and others around you by knowing the facts and taking appropriate precautions. Calling in advance allows your healthcare provider to quickly direct you to the right health facility. This protects you, and prevents the spread of viruses and other infections. Masks can help prevent the spread of the virus from the person wearing the mask to others. Masks alone do not protect against COVID-19, and should be combined with physical distancing and hand hygiene. Follow the advice provided by your local health authority.

Patient under home isolation will stand discharged and end isolation after at least 10 days have passed from onset of symptoms (or from date of sampling for asymptomatic cases) and no fever for 3 days. There is no need for testing after the home isolation period is over.

If you are Covid positive and in-home isolation, it means you cannot go to the balcony, which is used by others. If you have an exclusive balcony that is away from others by greens and distance, you may. Prefer to stay inside your room.

Yes. All electronic equipment that comes into your contact should be sanitized periodically. Please try not to share with anyone else.
